Universal Republic Records' Promotion Department has announced new promotions for three of its key executives. They will report to Joel Klaiman, EVP of Promotion and Artist Development for Universal Republic Records.
"The continuing success of our Promotion department is due to every member of our staff stepping up to meet the challenges and multiple complexities across the changing promotional and artist development landscape," stated Klaiman. "I commend the following executives for the critical and consistent role they play in extending the impact of our artists at radio. I applaud each of their individual efforts in ensuring the numerous successes we've achieved with this remarkable team. Their contributions have been invaluable to the breakout success of all our artists, including Amy Winehouse, Hinder, Colbie Caillat, Taylor Swift and others."
Mike Nazzaro has been promoted to Senior National Director of Top 40 Promotion. Previously, he was National Director of Top 40 Promotion, joining Universal Republic in 2006. In his new capacity, Nazzaro will report to Klaiman and his duties include promoting Universal Republic's current roster of artists at radio and providing guidance and support for the local promotion staff.
Toby Russell has been appointed Senior National Director, Top 40 Promotion. Previously, Russell was National Director of Promotion for Universal Republic Records. In 2007, Mr. Russell was Head of Triple A Promotion for Universal Republic. In his new capacity, Russell will report to Klaiman his and duties include promoting Universal Republic's current roster of artists at radio and developing marketing initiatives.
Howie Pivar has been promoted to Senior National Director, Top 40 Promotion. Previously, Pivar was National Director, Top 40 Promotion, for Universal Republic Records from 2007 to 2009. Prior to that appointment, Pivar was Regional Promotion Manager in Chicago for Universal Republic. In his new capacity, Pivar will report to Klaiman and his duties include developing and maintaining relationships with Top 40 Radio representatives from the Midwest to the West Coast, as well as building marketing opportunities for Universal Republic artists.
