Quick Hits: Drake, Juno Awards, Dreamcar
April 3, 2017

Drake's More Life spends a second week at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart, as its position continues to be driven by streaming numbers. At #2 is Ed Sheeran's latest album ÷. The only new release to debut in the top ten this week comes from Trey Songz with Termaine at #3. The Beauty & The Beast soundtrack is at #4 while Metallica’s Hardwired… To Self-Destruct is back up to #5, thanks to its bundling deal with tickets for the rockers' upcoming stadium tour. The rest of the top ten is rounded out by Bruno Mars (#6), the Moana soundtrack (#7), Rick Ross (#8), Future's eponymous release (#9) and The Weeknd (#10).

Canada's Juno Awards were handed out over the weekend, with The Weeknd and Drake among the winners, as expected. Drake was honored with the International Achievement Award while The Weeknd's Starboy was named R&B/Soul Recording of the Year. Shawn Mendes earned the Fan Choice Awards. The late Leonard Cohen was honored as Artist of the Year and his record You Want It Darker won for Album of the Year, while Canadian icons The Tragically Hip won multiple Junos, including Group of the Year. Coldplay's A Head Full of Dreams was named International Album of the Year.

DREAMCAR, the new side project from 3/4 of No Doubt (sans Gwen Stefani) and AFI singer Davey Havok, will release their self-titled debut album on May 12 via Columbia Records. The band will also hit the road on a short North American tour in May, starting in Washington, DC on May 18 and wrapping up in Chicago on May 27. DREAMCAR already had a series of West Coast dates lined up this month surrounding Coachella.
