Quick Hits: Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, Harry Styles, Lana Del Ray
March 29, 2017

More additions have been announced for the 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Brooklyn next month. Lenny Kravitz will perform a special tribute to Prince, with Alicia Keys, Mary Chapin Carpenter and the Indigo Girls announced as performers during the show as well. Pharrell will present Nile Rodgers with the Hall's Award for Musical Excellence. Also, George Harrison's son Dhani will induct Electric Light Orchestra and Train frontman Pat Monahan will induct Journey. The ceremony will take place on April 7.

Ex-One Direction member Harry Styles is teasing his solo debut album and single. The singer released a cryptic ad on UK TV over the weekend during The Voice UK highlighting the date April 7 and updated his social media profiles. Styles was then announced as the musical guest for Saturday Night Live on April 15 for the episode hosted by Jimmy Fallon.

Lana Del Rey has revealed a trailer for her new album Lust for Life. In a voiceover for the clip, the singer says, "when I’m in the middle of making a record, especially now when the world is in the middle of such a tumultuous period, I find I really need to take the space for myself far away from real life, to consider what my contribution to the world should be in these dark times." She adds, "Even though these times can feel a little bit crazy, they’re not so very different from what other generations have experienced at one time or another before. Amidst all the uncertainty, and as we transition out of one era into another one, there’s no place I’d rather be than smack-dab in the middle of ‘Holly-weird’ making this record for you. Because you, and the music, and this place, are my love, my life, my lust for life." Lust for Life does not have a release date yet but you can watch the trailer here:

The Library of Congress' National Recording Registry will add a unique mix of recordings to its archives this year. The collection includes David Bowie's The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, Talking Heads' Remain in Light and Straight Outta Compton by N.W.A. Other additions include songs from Barbra Streisand, Wilson Pickett, Don McLean and Judy Garland's timeless "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."
