Quick Hits: Drake, Pearl Jam, Fifth Harmony
March 13, 2017

Drake's long-teased "playlist project" More Life has a release date. In a teaser video released over the weekend, he revealed it will arrive this Saturday, March 18. A handful of songs from More Life have gradually debuted in recent months. The project is expected to feature new songs from Drake and artists on his OVO label.

Pearl Jam have invited all of the band's past drummers to join them at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in April. When the Class of '17 announcement was made, only Ten drummer Dave Krusen and current drummer Matt Cameron were listed as official inductees. Matt Chamberlain, Dave Abbruzzese and Jack Irons were left off but have been asked to be a part of the event on April 7. In a handwritten note posted online Saturday, Pearl Jam said, "We do feel fortunate to be recognized and provided the opportunity to reunite with everyone who has been part of the group. Specifically the drummers who all left their distinctive mark on our band in the pre-Matt Cameron years." Abbruzzese wrote online last fall how upset he was about his snub. The choice of which members join the Hall is solely up to the Rock Hall and not the band themselves.

Over the weekend, the 2017 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards were handed out, with Fifth Harmony winning twice in the music categories. The girl group was named Favorite Music Group as well as winning Favorite Song for "Work From Home." Shawn Mendes was named Favorite Male Singer while Selena Gomez was voted as Favorite Female Singer. Twenty One Pilots earned Best New Artist.

Joni Sledge, a founding member of '70s hitmakers Sister Sledge, has passed away at the age of 60. A statement released by her family read, "Pray for us as we weep for the loss of our sister, mother, aunt, niece and cousin Joni Sledge. We thank you for privacy as we hurt for her presence, but also for embracing her radiance and the sincerity with which she loved life." Sister Sledge were best known for their smash "We Are Family."
