March 1, 2017

Lorde confirmed on Twitter today that her new single is indeed titled "Green Light" and will arrive tomorrow. The track will debut at 2pm ET (which is 8am in her home country of New Zealand). The singer tweeted, "I am so proud of this song. it's very different, and kinda unexpected. it's complex and funny and sad and joyous and it'll make you DANCE."

Katy Perry is now the most-viewed female artist on Vevo with 11.1 billion views, passing Rihanna's 10.9 billion. Perry is also the second most-watched artist overall on Vevo, following Justin Bieber's 14.2 billion views. Her new video "Chained to the Rhythm" has been viewed over 32 million times since its release last month. "Roar" is the seventh most-watched video overall on Vevo while "Dark Horse" is the 10th most-watched.

Depeche Mode has revealed the North American leg of their 2017 world tour. The veteran group will kick off the trek in Salt Lake City on August 23 and wind up in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on October 27. The tour includes two-night stands in New York City and Los Angeles.

Avril Lavigne has signed a new deal with BMG in advance of her new album, due out on the label later in 2017. In a statement, the singer said, "For this album I have a new team behind me, and I just signed to BMG. At this point in my career and in my life I just wanted to put fresh energy around me and I feel like Iím having somewhat of a rebirth in my life. Iíve been faced with a lot, gone through a lot emotionally. The whole writing process has been therapeutic and empowering. This album is a natural process for me and itís coming from a very honest place. My hope is that it is an inspiration to many people."
