We told you on Tuesday that KXOA/Sacramento was teasing a new direction named after its syndicated morning man. Thursday morning, after the conclusion of The Howard Stern Show, the Infinity outlet flipped to Classic Alternative as "Howard 93.7, The Real Alternative."
Here's the station's maiden hour: Beastie Boys, "Sabotage;" Red Hot Chili Peppers, "Give It Away;" Violent Femmes, "Blister in the Sun;" Depeche Mode, "Personal Jesus;" Beck, "Loser;" Police, "Roxanne;" Candlebox, "You;" Nirvana, "Smells Like Teen Spirit;" Nine Inch Nails, "Closer;" U2, "Bullet The Blue Sky;" Presidents of the United States, "Lump;" Alice in Chains, "Man In The Box."
Reportedly new calls KHWD have been applied for.
As FMQB reported earlier, KXOA dusted its Hard Rock format on January 30. Following a weekend-long tease that "Howard is coming," it began airing nonstop Stern shows on Monday.
PD Byron Kennedy wasn't immediately available for comment.
